Longer version. DL Pawson is a human, a cat lover, and a gamer. The kind of person who has strong feelings about system mechanics, tavern scenes, and what makes a character arc actually land. He builds worlds late at night and argues with himself about whether a house cat would really wear full plate armor. (She would. And she'd wear it well.) He has a cat. That part is not a coincidence.
The "D" and "L" are borrowed from his real initials. "Pawson" came from the cat. Paws. Pawson. He's not sorry about it.
Shattered Realms started as a late-night "what if" and turned into a series. Book One is out now. Book Two is in the works.

It started with a simple question. What would happen if your house cat got transported to a fantasy world and immediately outranked you? What if the cat got the armor, the class, and the sword, and you got nothing?
The mechanics came from the gamer in him. The heart came from the part of him that believes the best stories are about the people (and cats) you'd do anything for.
The humor is what happens when those two meet. If you can't laugh at a cat in plate mail, what can you laugh at?
